Tenacity

I am very glad to present you this song: Tenacity. It is one of the songs that I would like to continue playing over and over because I really put a good effort into it. It may be surprising for you because it actually took me about 9 hours to be completed and this was also because it was my first completly recorded song. It is intersting to consider that there are songs that can seem easy to play but there others that are just extremely difficult! Tenacity is not that hard to play except for the solo parts. But recording it that day, that was another story.

I needed a long time alone with my instruments and laptop which is now kind of broken. The one that was more complex to use was my guitar for this song because there were some distortion changes and different effects in the pedal for most of the different segments. Thanks to the Lord I made it at the end, and you can imagine that as for the 8th hour I naturally felt very tired but with that need to "just finish it".

Always keep the Holy Spirit burning!

I enjoyed the process tough it was something that inspired me during the go and I can remember that during that day I didn't really eat that much, better be careful next time so I can actually produce songs!

For the bass parts that was not that difficult because the bass lines were indeed similar to the guitar ones except for the bass solo which was mainly an improvization

there are plenty of keyboard effects along the song. some of them as you can notice are syntehizrs that I used for the solo parts, I love synthetizer solos! There are some church organ parts in the arabic sounding part.

As for the background effects at the beginning that sound very "misty" I decided to use a little saturation of them by adding keyboard pads, a phaser and my guitar reverb effects plus another reverb effect while editing in audacity. Yes, this was done in audacity. I like working with different tools like FL studio but the simpler, the better.

This is for today and stay in touch with the blog and the good music, you can get this track in bandcamp of course!

Feeling Japanese

Yes, that's right! There is a new Japanese feeling this time for you which is "Kyoto", one of the songs that I made for the album Ultra Space. Even if you think it was made very throughly I have to confess that I didn't prepare it that much. It was the result of a guitar improvisation and for the rest of the tracks I just added some organ sounds, shamisen like sounds and synth-leads that made the sounds that you can hear in the background.

It is interesting that it all came up just with some guitar stuff I came up with because I like the idea of preparing songs at least until a certain degree (however there are times in which I do it very improvized anyhow).

Kyoto was a song that I made in a normal working day and I sure liked the final results as other people have liked so far.

Hopefully the project will keep growing and I am really excited about the continuation of this musical project which is not only for me but for you and of course for God's glory. I am glad that we can all enjoy these songs I am making and of course I will leave you here the song itself so you can enjoy it!

For those of you who are curious, I have been learning Japanese for about 3 years and the influence of this country in my life is also a good think that I want to add as an influence to my music. I enjoy the japanese music feeling, the organization culture and entrepreneurship that they have in such a united way.

Some people may ask: Do you like anime? Actually I do like just a little bit, not as much as I do like video games but it is better for me to talk about just some of them because I really don't know that much about the topic.

I used to like Pokemon a lot and the reason is actually because of the games, mainly. Still I am more of a gamer and definitely will enjoy games broadly!

Moving to GameDev Market

Game music is something I like a lot and lately, I decided that I will move to the GameDev Market where there are plenty of possibilities to put game music as an asset. This means that now many of my works will be avialable there! And if you are a follower and have the idea of putting any of my songs in your game you can totally get them there.

Some of the tracks are very specifically oriented to adventure and RPG kinds of games. Still I think that my music can fit in different kinds of scenarios and situations, it will be up to the developer's intention.

Hopefully there will be more and more music that you will be able to listen and get there.

By the moment I still need to upload those and it actually takes a good time to do it nicely but I am working on it almost everyday currently.

I think that you will like these songs a lot if you are into adventure games and into indie video games as well because you will notice that these songs are made with some interesting instruments that were mainly created in my keyboard.

Plenty of Piano Tracks This Time

For those ones who are curious, my keyboard is a Casio WK-1600. Kind of an interesting model because it is an old one and as far as I am concerened, this model is not being produced anymore. I rather take care of it!

New Album

"Indie Game Anyone?" is the name of an album that I created with a very "indie" touch. I am really glad to do this music and in fact I consider that this album is a good way to reflect the way that indie game developers live but musically.

This album has plenty of my works and I hope you can enjoy it since I did it thinking on those indie gamers who are looking to develop their games and this could be sometimes like be the background music you hear in your own lives.

Indie Life is one that I made with this kind of idea. Those indie gamers that are in their houses but thinking of the outside world and how to make it into the gaming industry.

Sometimes it is not that easy but at least, now it will be easier with background music for yourselves!

Here you can get many songs from my bandcamp: https://pedrovgm.bandcamp.com/album/indie-game-anyone

We do like Indie Stuff

I hope you can take the best of it. This music was made using my bare Casio keyboard and audacity recording tools. This keyboard which has been with me like for more than 5 years. It is not the most modern one but it sure keeps the feeling!

Hope you can enjoy what I have done and now, it is time for an indie life to keep going. Stay cool and stay blessed, that's why I remind for sure: may the Lord bless you!

3 Songs I Enjoyed

The Light Of The World

This song I made is surely one that I want you to enjoy and it reminds me also of an RPG Boss Theme for some reason. Maybe the influences of other RPG games like Golden Sun and Final Fantasy are somehow influencing my work. Good thing!

This song strongly reminds me of the fact that we are the light of the world as Jesus once said according to the Biblical versicle in Matthew 5:14 that reads: "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden".

This is something very personal to say but hope you can get the best of it which is the Lord Himself and the many useful teachings of Him. It was a nice song to compose.Just enjoy and remember to enlight as much as possible, as for yourself, as for others.

 Electric Space

This time I made something  that you may like specially if  you are fan of Indie Game  Music with a very different  style. I wonder if any of you  have experienced listening  to music of this genre while playing any game. Anyway, this is for you so please enjoy a lot!

If you are a gamer who loves different kinds of music, then it try this thing!

Into Space

This is another track that I made which is very focused on the "insect's kind of theme". I called it "Insectoid" originally but I called it Into Space for commercial purposes. It was one that I really liked a lot. Actually, since I love insects and weird space sounds I mixed both things musically!

Fun Fact: In this song, my cat helped, literally. My cat (Nubita) actually gave me some help in a very direct way because if the whistle sounds (4 times in the whole song) weren't really made by me. That was Nubita walking on my Casio Keyboard! What is more surprising, is that it somehow fitted. Now that is a very "animal way" to create an "animal song" right?

Works Avilable on Bandcamp

PedroVGM is Now on Bandcamp!

Well, I am really glad to tell you that my work is already avilable on Bandcamp! That means that now you will be able to see ALL THE SONGS that I have uploaded so far which are a more complete collection than the ones I have on Youtube.

The site includes 3 Albums so far from which the album "Ultra Space" is the most complete one. It includes a collection of 7 songs with total duration of more than 25 minutes!

The album "Ultra Space" is the one that took more time between composing, producing, mixing and eventually mastering. A hard work requires a good time so I am glad to say that it was finnished and that now you can enjoy it wherever you are.

The album "Relaxations" is one that was more "relaxing" to do since as you can see the amount of songs is different, still very chilly to listen while at work so you can think of your holidays!

The "The Night Album" was done with some time and it is very much for "night lovers" so if you are of those who sometimes stay awake at nights, that album shoud be yours!

Hope you are enjoying the many works  I have made so far and there will be yet more to come
